Being sixteen sucks enough already, but for teen super hero ‘Short Circuit’ there are bigger problems, like the fact she has to electrocute herself daily to charge up for combat yet always seems to run out in the heat of battle. Judges’ comments as per official judges’ report(pg 13): “This superhero-style short story was whimsical, playful, and delightfully more-ish. The panel was effectively unanimous in expressing the hope that there would be more stories forthcoming within this milieu.”

Short Circuit was also included in Twelfth Planet Press’s list of Years Best YA Speculative Fiction 2013.
