Judges’ comments as per official judges’ report(pg 13): “This superhero-style short story was whimsical, playful, and delightfully more-ish. The panel was effectively unanimous in expressing the hope that there would be more stories forthcoming within this milieu.”

Short Circuit was also included in Twelfth Planet Press’s list of Years Best YA Speculative Fiction 2013.
